Wim Does studied organ with Harm Jansen at the Constantijn Huijgens Conservatory in Zwolle, with Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin in Paris and with Ben van Oosten at Codarts University of Professional Arts Education in Rotterdam, where he received his Master’s degree. He also studied Harmony, Fanfare and Brass Band conducting and church music.
He is principal organist of the R.K. St. Aloysiuskerk in Utrecht and second organist of the St. Augustinuskerk in Amsterdam. From 2012 to 2020 he was a board member of the national board of the Royal Christian Singers Association for Education. As an international concert organist, he gives annual organ concerts both in the Netherlands and abroad. Thus he gave concerts in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany (Magdeburg Cathedral), England (London, St. Pauls Cathedral), Sweden, Spain, Finland, Norway, USA, Italy, Russia, (Moscow, International House of Music) Canada (Toronto and Montréal) and France (Paris, Orléans, Le Mans). In Paris, he has given concerts at Notre-Dame, St. Sulpice, St. Clotilde, St. Trinité, École Militaire, St. Augustin and on the house organ in Meudon of the organist/composer of St. Sulpice Marcel Dupré, among others. As organ teacher and arranger he has his own music practice W & S Music in Apeldoorn. With Susanna Veerman he forms a permanent organ duo with whom he recorded a CD in 2008 and 2010 respectively in the Saint-Antoine des Quinze-Vingts in Paris, the cathedral of Orléans. In 2013 he recorded a solo CD in the St. Aloysiuskerk in Utrecht with works by Buxtehude, Bach, Schumann, Brahms, Rheinberger and others. In 2016 he recorded the CD key connections with Susanna Veerman and the pianist Mirsa Adami in the Philharmonie Haarlem with works for organ & piano. In 2013 he was awarded the Diplôme Médaille d’Argent of the French Société Académique d’Education et d’Encouragement Arts-Sciences-Lettres for his achievements in the French art of organ.
